But what is Leadership Through Sports?

Let us clarify it in words so that the background concept of our Mantra 'Leadership Through Sports' so that it is is clear to everyone.

We have used two terms here: one is ‘Leadership’ and the other is ‘Sports’

Leadership means any initiative that causes a positive change (A simple definition is: leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal)

Sports is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

The key philosophy of AALPS is based on a few hypotheses:

  • Sports is one of the purest ways on human entertainment which has the power to connect human across the world (FIFA world cup is the largest single event in the world that connects 4 billion people)
  • Athletes (Sports practitioners) have more physical and mental abilities than average people through years of dedication and training. Thus our society can be greatly benefitted by the skills and expertise of the athletes.
  • With our tested 400+ training sessions run by athletes, we have seen that Athletes with proper leadership training, can be of immense value to the society.

 

At AALPS we enable the Athletes to practice leadership through sports and to magnify a chain reaction of positivity, health and wellbeing revolution.

How Do We Do So?

  1. We pick athletes (both community level and professionals) 
  2. We Train them as leaders through our series of training programmes (ALCP, Power Camp etc.)
  3. We enable athlete to take change initiatives (outline below).
  4. An athlete when trained to lead change initiatives through sports are called ‘Athlete Leader’ of AALPS 

What Can Be the Possible Examples of Leadership Through Sports (Change Initiatives)?

  1. Training people
  2. Creating inspiring sessions at community level
  3. Organizing events
  4. Knowledge Dissemination (Organizing networking sessions, learning seminars etc.)
  5. Social Change movements through sports
  6. Charity/ Fundraising through sports
